Burren Cottages Thatched cottages situated among 14 acres at the base of the Burren. They are only 10 mins from Doolin Village famous for traditional Irish music. The cottages are charming and elegant with open fireplaces and wooden beams. Although traditional they have all mod cons. They have lovely terraces with BBQs, garden furniture. Activities such as walking, cycling, painting, golfing, horse riding, caving and exploring are at your doorstep. The location is particular suited to those with interests such as botany, archaeology, geology. It is a haven for families as it is so safe for children. Blue flag beaches are approx10 mins drive. Ferries depart from Doolin to Aran Islans. Pitch and Putt10 min. Doolin famous for traditional Irish music have live sessions in the pubs nightly. There excellent restaurants service local produce such as fish, local lamb and cheeses. Famous Cliff of Mohair is only 15 mins from cottages as is championship Lahinch golf course.

Prices are for the property per week. Please contact us for short breaks, long weekends. Prices do not include electricity/heating etc. Please notes rates for Christmas, Easter, Bank Holidays will be at peak rates.

Notes on accommodation
All accommodation is child friendly. Electricity and heating are not included. Bed linen and towels supplied. Cleaning can be arranged on request. Catering, traditional music sessions arranged on request. Babysitting arranged. For those who do not wish to drive at night to the village taxi/transfer service can be arranged.

Outside
Cottages set in 14 acres in valley at base of the Burren. 2 acres approx surrounds each cottage. Outdoor furniture at each cottage. BBQ area. Fruit trees in Kathleen's cottage.

Coast/Beach
Fanore blue flag beach (very safe - ideal for children) 15 min drive is safe for swimming and is unique in that its located in heart of the Burren. Lahinch beach is 25 mins drive. If the weather turns bad there is a leisure centre at this beach. The backdrop of the beach is the Burren. Doolin port situated 10 mins drive has a small beach which is also safe. The ferries to the Aran Islands leave from Doolin. There are cruises to Cliffs of Mohair from Doolin also.

Golf
There are 2 golf courses in Lahinch. (1 championship). Approx. 20 mins drive from cottages. Pitch and putt course in Doolin village (10min) with magnificent views of Aran Islands, Cliffs of Mohair. Special inclusive packages can be prearranged for golfers. It is advisable to book tee times for Lahinch.

Special interest holidays
Special interest packages can be prearranged e.g. music lessons, botany outings, walks, and painting holidays. The Burren is an important Geological and Botanical nature preserve as well as a bird sanctuary and archaeological paradise. It has an abundance of stone monuments, in particular wedge tombs. We can arrange local guides to take you on various tours of the region.

Car hire recommended. Shannon airport 90 mins. Dublin airport 4 hrs. Ennis, main town, 40 mins. Ennistymon market town 25 mins. Limerick City 90 mins. Kilrush (ferry goes from Kerry to Kilrush) 1 hour.

Ennistymon 25 mins. Lahinch 25 min. Ballyvaughan, 25 mins. Kilfenora 25 mins. Ennis 40 mins. Aran Islands by ferry from Doolin 35 mins. Cliffs of Mohair 25 mins.

Further details
Local shop 10 mins. Doolin 10 mins which has bars (live music sessions), excellent restaurants, craft shops, Doolin Cave. Bank is in Ennistymon 25 mins. All the botanical and archaeological areas of interest are surrounding this area. Car is essential for touring around. There are many good pubs serving food during the day while sightseeing. Ailwee caves are only 25 mins away in Ballyvaughen.

Booking notes
Arrival day is Saturday (please enquire for other days). 25% booking deposit. Balance due 6 weeks before arrival (unless late booking full amount due).

House swap
Saturday changeover day. Check in time 3pm check out time 11am. The owner will meet you on arrival.
